How Overtime Pay Is Calculated in Malaysia
Overtime pay is additional pay given to employees who work beyond normal working hours. A simple estimate is to calculate the hourly rate from monthly salary, then multiply it by the overtime rate and overtime hours.

Overtime Calculation Example
If an employee earns RM3,000 per month, works 26 days per month and 8 hours per day, the estimated hourly rate is RM3,000 ÷ 26 ÷ 8.
